Introduction Season 2
Season 2 of Be the Ripple begins with a quieter definition of impact. In this opening episode, Sabine shares why this season goes deeper, not wider, and why influence isn’t about scale, it’s about movement. You’ll hear the story behind the ripple, how delayed impact can take years to reveal itself, and why legacy isn’t something we leave behind, but something we practice every day, through presence, values, and the way we show up in our relationships and lives. This season is an invitation to reflect, listen, and notice the ripples you may be creating without even realising it.
"Impact isn't about scale. It's about movement. And it's about meaningful ripples. And they're sometimes the ones that you don't see right away."

Hello and welcome. I'm Sabina. And if you're new here, I'm really glad you found your way. And if you've been with me since season one, thank you very much for being part of this growing Ripple. I'm really glad you're here again. So when I first launched Be The Ripple podcast, it didn't come from this big strategy meeting. It wasn't this branding decision that we made. Season one was filled with what I feel were very
powerful conversations with women and with men. They were navigating their careers, they were navigating potential health issues, leadership and reinvention. And many of them, you may know, were part of the Beyond the Ladder community from the book that I wrote. And what stayed with me again and again was that none of their stories fit into this nice little box or a drawer, not this traditional definition of what success is. And yet,
Every single one of them was creating impact in their own way. That's where this idea of the ripple really began to take more shape. We talk about impact as if it's something that you can see right away, something that's measurable, something that is immediate, but real impact doesn't always announce itself with a megaphone. Sometimes it's a conversation.
Sometimes it's this conversation that you've had with someone for years ago and it comes up again. Sometimes it's a question that quietly changes how you see yourself. And sometimes it's a decision that feels ordinary in that moment, but alters the direction of your life and maybe even over time. And that's the important part of as we move into season two, because this season is not about
big versus small ripples. And actually, in fact, I want to move away from this idea of labeling altogether. Because who decides what's big? Who decides what's small? A ripple is a ripple. And impact isn't about scale. It's about movement. And it's about meaningful ripples. And they're sometimes the ones that you don't see right away. So this really matters to me.
because it's part of my own journey, there was a moment years ago, actually over 30 years ago, connected to a conversation that I had with someone named Tom, who you may have heard about in my Ripple Talk. And at that time, there was definitely an immediate ripple that I felt that it had an impact on my life. But something shifted in me. But what I couldn't see was that there was another ripple that would happen over 30 years later, and that would start to unfold.
And that moment really led me to give a talk about Ripples. The talk led to much deeper conversations, and these conversations created the Ripple Network. And from there, things began to grow. The podcast was born. And I want everyone to remember that some Ripples actually take a long time to reveal themselves. And that's what season two is really about. We're going...
deeper this season, not wider and not for the sake of it, but deeper, more deeper reflections, honesty and intention. We're going to explore questions like what does it mean to create impact when the outcome isn't visible right away? How do we stay committed to our values? And sometimes when the results are delayed, we don't see them right away. And how do we redefine legacy not as something that we leave behind someday, but
something that we actually live every day and every moment. Because for me, and you've heard me talk about it, legacy isn't a destination. It's a daily practice. And when we talk about ripples, we're not just talking about achievements. We're talking about influence and energy and presence. It's about the way that you show up in the rooms and the relationships and in your own life. So you're gonna hear definitely more stories and
this season, you may feel something that's familiar and you may feel something that challenges you. You may hear stories of reinvention, of courage, of pauses that matter just as much as progress does. So my hope that each episode leaves you with a moment of reflection, a question that can carry you forward, a conversation that you're inspired to have in the future, because the ripple doesn't end just with the listening.
It actually begins from there. And if you're listening and you feel that nudge, that kind of sense that you have a story or a perspective or a ripple that you're in the process of making, I would love to hear from you. And if you'd like to be a guest on the podcast, please reach out because this is a space that's built on shared voices and shared stories. So thank you for being here. Thank you for listening.
And most of all, thank you for being part of this ripple and see you soon.

Frequently asked
Season two goes deeper rather than wider, focusing on honest, intentional reflections. It explores what it means to create impact when outcomes aren't visible right away, how to stay committed to values when results are delayed, and how to redefine legacy as something lived daily rather than left behind someday.
The idea grew out of powerful conversations with women and men in season one who were navigating careers, health issues, leadership, and reinvention, many from the Beyond the Ladder community. Their stories didn't fit traditional definitions of success, yet each was creating impact in their own way, which sparked the concept of the ripple.
Sabine says impact isn't about scale but about movement, and it doesn't always announce itself immediately—sometimes it's a quiet conversation or question that changes how you see yourself. She defines legacy not as a destination left behind someday, but as a daily practice lived through influence, energy, presence, and how you show up in relationships.
Over 30 years ago, Sabine had a conversation with someone named Tom that created an immediate ripple in her life, but she couldn't see that another ripple would unfold more than 30 years later. That moment led her to give a talk about ripples, which sparked deeper conversations, created the Ripple Network, and eventually led to the podcast being born.
